Recognising the business that has demonstrated a competent ability to succeed in global markets. Judges will consider the stability and growth of future sales and identify a note-worthy capacity for modifying a product or service to new markets.
Celebrates the business whose purpose is to pursue and answer the organisation?s objectives without monetary gain or owner profitability. Judges will look to measure success in terms of how will these objectives have been satisfied and the routes they have taken to achieve this, taking into account innovation, business development and future potential to name a few.
Recognises the business which has demonstrated its commitment to the society in which it resides, by actively participating in and giving something back to its local community. Judges will consider all aspects of contribution from time, training and mentoring schemes, charitable assistance and overall support.
Awards the individual within a business who has spent a fixed amount of time within that company, learning a trade from a skilled employee. This individual will have shown outstanding ingenuity or demonstrated a contribution that goes above and beyond what is expected of them within their role.
Recognizing an established, family-run business which can demonstrate all-round excellence, drive, originality, skill and resilience. Elements the judges will consider include, financial distinction with particular reference to significant improvement in turnover and profitability, employee development in the areas of training, opportunities for promotion and rewarding success, response to change particularly innovations, product development and exploration of markets and also community involvement and how their business reflects the family's values.
Awards an individual or organisation that has made an extraordinary contribution to the economy. Factors such as originality, enterprise, employment creation and the impact the efforts of the contender has had on the business sector, the economy and the wider community.
Awarded to the CEO who has made an outstanding contribution to their company?s performance and played a key role in significant achievement of their company. Judges will consider factors including but not limited to leadership, vision, courage, sustained performance, employee engagement, customer and shareholder value, reputation and a demonstrable impact on the company, industry or business.
Recognises the CFO who has made outstanding contribution to their company and played key role in significant achievements such as rapid growth management, operational efficiency, cost reduction and cash flow improvements, innovative financing, strategic partnerships and the implementation of best practices in finance and capital structure improvement. Judges will specifically look at areas where achievement is measurable such as financial performance, revenue growth, margins, balance sheets and improved competitive position.
This award is a platform to promote the importance of technology and innovation and seeks to highlight the role of the most prominent leaders of technology-based growth. The individual will be an inspiring leader who is responsible for the company?s technology and its development at the highest level. Judges will take into consideration the the value added to a company?s performance through technology and innovation, displays of leadership through operation, creation of a culture of innovation and the integration of key agility principles and design thinking in order to sustain improvement.
Recognises the business within this category, which holds a staff of less than 50 in total, that have demonstrated a clear ability to bring market-changing ideas to their sector, with the subsequent product or service being one of true innovation.
Acknowledges the e-commerce platform that has most competently tackled client demands by taking into account factors including but not limited to, growth in turnover, notable market presence, advancements in concept and delivery, and has significant plans to scale.
Identifies the business, with a total staff of less than 50, that has a proven ability to succeed in global markets. The judges study export sales growth or consistency and aim to identify a significant skill for modifying a product or service, to new markets.
Celebrates a company of between two and nine personnel that has a proven and convincing revenue growth, and a product or service that can demonstrate its ability to be superior to that of its competitors. To be able to identify and capitalise on scale of opportunities, will also be considered by the judges.
Rewards the entrepreneur, mentor or industry expert who has shown most commitment to small business support with judges taking into consideration their effectiveness in raising awareness, campaign value and any other gauge of success in terms of the promotion of smaller businesses.
Distinguishes the small business with between 10 and 50 employees, which has the most innovative service or product that has demonstrated its ability to ?shake up? the sector. The judges will also consider the strength of their turnover growth within the past year.
Recognises the sole trader business that provides a service or product that out-platforms its peers and can prove a consistency in sales over the past year and a niche position within its industry.
Celebrates an entrepreneurial individual aged 25 or under who has exhibited the most remarkable and exciting credentials in establishing and growing an original business. The judges will consider factors such as growth in turnover, market penetration, and partnerships formed.
Rewards the business who has most successfully executed and grown a marketing or communication strategy or campaign, and whose delivered benefits are truly measurable. Judges will assess how successfully they have communicated their key messages to an external or internal target audience using new media, PR or advertising.
Identifies responsible business practice across the environment and community by distinguishing pioneering CSR strategies or initiatives that have, or are making, a significant difference to people at a local, national or global level in the current market. Judges are also keen to pinpoint any businesses that are making progressive steps to improve sustainability or who are making an encouraging impression on the environment, considering anything from innovative ideas to behavioural changes that have been put into practice.
Distinguishing the difference between an organisation who merely pays lip service to great customer service and rewarding those businesses who truly deliver it. Judges will identify those who go above and beyond to deliver exceptional service and who build their organisation around the needs of their target audience. They will review how a business identifies their customer needs and how they are managed and monitored, and select a company who does so in a way no other company does.
Celebrating the employer who, based on a precise set of values has created an exceptional workplace which in turn has led to a highly committed, hugely effective and motivated workforce. Judges will look to identify the tangible examples of benefits afforded to the employees and the subsequent financial cost and return; the winner will be the business who has qualities that sets it apart from others by demonstrating how these changes have benefited the business and its people.
As a fundamental consideration for all businesses, Health and Safety is key area of all companies that should be assessed and commended. Judges will seek to identify a business that has demonstrated an exceptional commitment in this area and that has raised standards across their organisation by assessing measurable achievements within areas such ground-breaking initiatives, original programmes, and pioneering teams or campaigns.
Rewards an exceptional HR team or identifies an original approach to people management that has proven track record of transforming an organisation.
Identifies an organisation that have employed innovative technology in order to deliver an operational benefit or an improved service to customers. Judges will pinpoint a business who has demonstrated how they have enhanced the customer or employee experience through the smart implementation of technology.
Seeking to highlight the organisation that has best identified new products or services and successfully brought them to market or modified an already existing product for a new market. Judges will need to be satisfied that there was a current need for the innovation and that it has a notable success in fulfilling the objectives it was initially set.
Rewarding a large business of more than 200 personnel with a turnover in excess of 10 million GBP, who stands out across the board. Judges will seek to identify the business who excels in criteria such outstanding products, innovative marketing and first-rate customer service. This award celebrates the ?all-rounder? who has proven and impressive financials to support their working business plan and one who unmistakeably recognises their CSR commitments.
Celebrating the business who has delivered measurable results in areas such as profit increase, sales, awareness or usage by the development and implementation of a successful marketing strategy. This activity can be related to a specific product or service or, the business as a whole. Judges will look for a business who has set and delivered on, clear and measurable objectives and who stands out from the crowd in terms of differentiation.
Identifying a company that has been trading or less than three years who as a has an original business idea or a clear point of difference, having identified a gap in the market for something completely new or developing a new and exciting perspective on an existing product or service. There will be more more focus on future potential rather than turnover or profit growth, given the infancy of the business.
Seeking to find either a niche or mass market product or service which has a distinctive business edge and proven success in terms of investment return or cost saving. This category considers not only innovation but also pricing, after sales service, design and performance.
Identifying an organisation who have ?worked smart? in the sourcing of goods and services in order to meet their objectives. Judges will seek out the business who has best delivered more for less, through an innovative approach.
Rewarding the business who offers the best in terms of a collection of new or established products or services. Judges will seek out the company who can demonstrate how their cleverly developed range of solutions represent outstanding value, work together in a distinctive way or appeal to a specific market.
Seeking to find an example of the most outstanding and innovative websites, corporate identities, brochures or other forms of corporate communication which not only exhibit a high level of creativity but that also demonstrate strategic relevance to wider corporate objectives. Entries are welcome from in-house teams, agencies, consultancies or printers.
Seeking to award the individual of a business, who has shown outstanding ingenuity or demonstrated a contribution that goes above and beyond what is expected of them within their role.
Looking to identify a remarkable individual who has recognised a market opportunity and built an exceptional business around it. Consideration will be given to strong commercial performance, noteworthy growth, staff and customer loyalty, innovation and sound leadership. Judges will also be keen to understand the clear vision of where they want to take their business in the future.
Celebrating how the experience and knowledge of a Non-Executive Director can transform a business and contribute to the delivery of long-term success and growth. Judges will look to award an individual who has excelled by offering a different outlook, leveraging key relations or who has identified a gap in the market for a new product or service.
Seeking out an individual, at any level within an organisation, who has overcome personal adversity or embarked on an interesting journey by helping the business, its staff or customers in a unique way; judges will want to identify an individual who has perhaps succeeded where others have failed.
Rewarding the organisation that best demonstrates an international organic growth strategy by achieving outstanding levels of sales and by improving upon their profit and market share through international development and the launching of new products and services. Judges will also seek to identify the establishment of new markets, the development or growth of product and service ranges and the forward or backward integration in their supply chain
