Judges will examine the progress and growth of the company considering aspects such as, financial results, customer wins, innovation, customer testimonials, strong leadership, and the specific achievements and initiatives of the individuals.
Identifying the chief information officer or IT director of a business, who has a proven positive impact on the company?s bottom line through the deployment of technology and the strong implementation of a stellar IT strategy. Judges will look to find examples of strong leadership and how the impact their IT deployments have had on the business as a whole, considering aspects such as improved efficiency of internal processes, made parallel to business goals, taken full advantage of productivity, improved internal communication and kept the organization running as effectively as possible. Judges will also assess how well the CIO has maintained the organizations stature as a front-runner in innovation and has promoted the use of technology as a force for driving business value across the whole organization as a whole.
Celebrating the IT, technology or business leader specializing in the area of cloud technology, who has demonstrated outstanding results in the last 18 months. Judges will pay particular attention to demonstrations of successfully deploying cloud technologies; recognizing improvements in how a company approaches cloud computing and how they deliver effective cloud strategies that enhance employee productivity or flexibility. They will also consider the creation business value, proven efficiency and cost saving, improvements made to services and the challenges they have overcome. Finally, judges will want to understand the ways in which the individual will drive new cloud innovation in the industry, further knowledge, increase awareness and educate around cloud and related technologies.
Acknowledging the chief technology officer or technology director who has demonstrated a positive impact on the company?s top line and driven new customer value through the innovative use of technology. Candidates will have demonstrated examples of strong leadership and the employment of a technology strategy to enhance product development and improve the service the company provides to customers. Judges will also asses how well embedded the chief technology officer is in the business and how they have driven strong commercial results by helping to put technology at the heart of the business.
Awarding the IT, technology or business leader who has demonstrated superior success in the area of data technology in the last 18 months. This could include demonstrations of successfully deploying data technologies, improving how a company uses or deals with data and by delivering effective data strategies. Judges will assess how well they have enhanced decision-making with data, created business value, efficiencies and cost savings, or improved services through the use of data. Judges will also seek to identify the prospects for furthering education and awareness around data related technologies.
Recognizing the digital or business leader who has proven success in the area of digital innovation in the last 18 months. This could be shown through the successful deployment of digital technology, improving a company?s digital approach, delivering effective digital strategies or transforming the way a business operates through digital innovation. Judges will look for the creation of business value and cost savings, the improvement of services through the use of digital technology, the ways in which the individual has helped a company handle the challenges that come with digital and not least, recognize how they have driven new digital innovation in the industry and furthered awareness and education around digital and related technologies.
Awarding the IT, technology or business leader who has disrupted a business, industry, market or long-held way of doing something through the innovative use of technology in the last 18 months. This could be at an internal, operation level, or at a customer-facing level. Judges will examine the extent of the disruption by the individual by looking at the technologies involved, their application and how they?ve influenced the ways things are done or how people or organizations use, function or perform. Ultimately, the judges will look at the overall business results and the innovation that has been created through this technology-led disruption.
Recognising the IT, technology or business leader who best supports and increases the diversity of a workplace by driving initiatives such as making technology workforces a more inclusive environment for people of different genders, races, sexual orientations, cultures, disabilities and backgrounds. Judges will identify those strategies that have been pioneered and assess the impact on the business, recognise positive role models, methods of attracting (and retaining) a more diverse workforce, and above all proven success at making the workplace a more inclusive environment.
This can be to award either a technology company that has improved business operations and driven innovation through the use of technology, or a company from any other industry that has used technology to deliver improved business results. Judges will seek to identify the efforts the employer has made to adopt different technologies in order to create a more innovative and productive working environment
Identifying an IT or technology professional, who started their career in the last five years but has a proven ability for being a successful technology leader. Judges will look at each candidate?s achievements and growth path in the last five years, with a particular emphasis on accomplishments in the last 18 months. These could include contributions to successful IT projects, demonstrations of strong management skills, creating business value from technology, understanding the impact of technology on the business, and helping drive new innovation in the industry.
Awarding the IT, technology, security or business leader who has demonstrated successful results in protecting a company from cyber threats or progressing the cyber security industry in the last 18 months. Judges will look for examples of success in keeping a company protected; innovative approaches; delivery of effective security strategies; helping a company deal with cyber threats; driving new security innovation in the industry; creating security awareness programs in the workplace; or furthering knowledge and education around cyber security.
Recognising the technology or business leader who has led an IT transformation, digital transformation or business change program driven through technology in the last 18 months. Judges will assess the preparation, execution and results of the transformation program, looking particularly at the technologies and innovation involved, best practice, alignment to business goals, impact on the business, education, ROI achieved, and the management of culture shifts.
Seeking to reward an IT, technology or business leader under the age of 35, who has demonstrated rapid progression in their career and has proven success in business value and innovation through the use of technology. Judges will identify success in deploying technologies; improvements in approaches technology; delivery of effective IT or technology strategies; relevant cost savings, or improving services and driving new innovation in the industry whilst furthering knowledge, awareness and education around technology.

This category recognizes the outstanding advances made in the areas of the Cloud, whether it be in terms of security or flexibility. Judges will identify the ways in which The Cloud profoundly influenced the way that services can be supplied and data stored and highlight those who have demonstrated and begun to realize its potential.
This category considers the best overall solutions to keep business users safe in an era when threats to business operations and personal data are becoming ever more common and complex. Judge will look for the ways in which security products have had to respond to the need for constantly evolving technology innovations to protect their users.
This category rewards those innovations in mobile applications which push the boundaries of the sector. Judges will consider all types for innovation, whether that be for banking or travel, payments of goods or consuming content, and recognize the innovation which has best displayed a attribute to aiding in an essential part of everyday life.
Seeking to award the project which brings together a range of connected physical devices with automated systems. As a relatively new area, the judges will look for revolutionary technologies that can be proven to provide real benefits.
Recognizing the analytics or ?Big Data? projects within a business, that have had a major impact. Judges will determine the impact relative to the size of the issue rather than in absolute terms, but will in the most part be seeking to identify an issue that was solved, or discovered, by use of data and how it was successfully resolved.
Recognizing a project that illustrates how innovation and technology can help drive public services. Judges will be looking at the ways in which the public sector has embraced technology to advance its services and increase efficiencies and represent how technology can be a good public servant.
The judges are looking for superior examples of how technology has been harnessed to decipher enterprise wide issues. From banking to retail, broadcast to manufacturing, the successful entry will need to combine an insight and implementation of technology to the highest standards.
This category is designed to identify new companies that are creating pioneering technologies. Judges will be looking for a company, founded no more than 5 years from the date of the awards, who are proven to be offering a new slant on an existing technology or who are innovating new technologies themselves.
Identifying an outstanding company who are in full growth mode and no longer a start-up business. Judges will seek out those are companies that have overcome their initial funding barriers and that have proven expansion due to their excellent service, products and insight. Businesses will need to be over three years old and have evidence of increasing turnover.
Looking to award the company who best helps their staff thrive, not just in terms of creating an effective technology workforce, but also in wider areas, such as supporting external activities and communities. Judges will look for examples in staff retention, training and the opportunities that they are given, as well as employee satisfaction.
